Amalaki (Emblica Officinalis)
Indian gooseberry is a tree that grows in India, the Middle East, and some southeast Asian countries. Indian gooseberry has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Indian gooseberry is most commonly used for high cholesterol, abnormal levels of cholesterol or blood fats (dyslipidemia), and persistent heartburn. It is also used for diarrhea, nausea, and cancer, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.
Babbul Niryas (Acacia Arabica)
Gum arabic is the gum that is exuded from certain trees, such as the Acacia Senegal tree. It’s a dietary fiber that can dissolve in water. Gum arabic is used for high cholesterol, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. In manufacturing, gum arabic is a pharmaceutical ingredient in medications for throat or stomach inflammation and as a film-forming agent in peel-off skin masks.
Karpur (Camphor)
Camphor, commonly known as Kapur, is a white, crystalline substance with a strong odor and a pungent taste. Burning Camphor in the house helps to kill germs and purifies the air as it acts as a natural insecticide. Camphor consumption in small amounts with jaggery provides relief from cough due to its expectorant activity. It expels the mucus from the lungs and helps ease breathing. Camphor water is used to manage skin infections due to its antifungal and antibacterial properties.
